One of my favorite places to walk my dogs is on the Riverwalk Greenway in Pigeon Forge.

Rent a Pet-Friendly Cabin! If you and your dog are feeling cooped up inside, head to the Riverwalk Greenway in Pigeon Forge for some sunshine and exercise! We love coming here for walks! Though it is never really that busy here, this time of year is exceptionally peaceful! In the summer, my dogs love to cool off in the river. In the winter we enjoy walking along the river and watching birds. We see ducks, geese, great blue herons, and kingfishers here almost every time!

Access

The GreenwayOne of the nice things about the Riverwalk Greenway its convenient location. Close to downtown Pigeon Forge, I can easily combine a trip to the grocery store with some fun and exercise for my boys!

A good place to park is the small parking lot near the intersection of Teaster Ln and Jake Thomas Blvd. A little farther down Teaster Lane, there is a huge vacant parking lot, which is where we usually park. One of my dogs has a lot of energy, so when we come here, I put on his harness and let him pull me around this parking lot on my skateboard. This is the perfect place for this type of activity!

Reasons to Scoop the PoopPlease be Courteous!

When visiting, please show courtesy to other Greenway users by using a leash and cleaning up after your dog. Baggies are available from a dispenser at the beginning of the Riverwalk on Ashley Ave. Picking up after your dog prevents water pollution and keeps it off people’s shoes! (Eew!) The cleaner we keep this area, the more enjoyable it be for everyone!

More to Come!

Pigeon Forge’s Greenway is currently 2 miles long, although there are plans to expand it in the future. Eventually it will stretch from one end of Pigeon Forge to the other. We can’t wait!
